About the project

The University of Mila is a public institution dedicated to science, culture, and professional education, with legal personality and financial autonomy. It was established as a university center at the start of the 2008–2009 academic year, enrolling more than 1,000 students and marking the launch of higher education and scientific research in the wilaya of Mila. Over the years, the institution has experienced steady growth in both its academic offerings and human resources. Today, it serves more than 10,820 students, supported by 529 faculty members and 478 technical and administrative staff. As part of the development of the higher education system, the Mila University Center was elevated to the status of a full-fledged university by Executive Decree No. 25-266 of 15 Rabie El Awwal 1447, corresponding to October 7, 2025. In tribute to the national memory and in recognition of one of the iconic figures of the Algerian War of Independence, the institution was officially renamed Abdelhafid Boussouf University of Mila on December 29, 2025. The University offers a wide range of programs covering all three levels of higher education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate.
